the WHOLE thing with archer and lana is they choose each other over and over again. in s1, lana had the opportunity to take his job at odin and she doesn’t, in s4 when she initially quits, archer asks her to stay and she does, and later that season, archer literally chooses her life over his. even when he tells her to run away in vice, she stays for him. they go all they way to california together, they stick together during and after IIA; twice archer having the opportunity to leave with a different partner, and yet still staying with the gang; with lana.
no matter what the other opportunity might have brought, it would’ve been without the other, so it wasn’t worth it. they have spent all these years together building whatever fucked up bond they have, and it everything ends with him saying ‘i’ll miss what you have to say about stuff’???
I think it’s a cute thing to say, but not to lana. archer could’ve said that to anyone in the gang, (like imagine if he said that to cyril, yknow?) but the fact that is *all* he says to lana, in my opinion, is incredibly unsatisfying and out of character, given all the things he’s said to her before
